Bucks vs Wolves

So which team has a better young core, Bucks or the Wolves? Lets break it down! Lets start with the Wolves best player.. The player with the best chance to become a superstar is most definetely Karl Anthony Towns. He's got some serious Tim Duncan, DeMarcus Cousins, and Anthony Davis shit going on already after only one year. He can score, rebound, protect the rim, and has a promising jump shot that one day might stretch out to the 3 point line. He has a huge ceiling and should be a perennial all star with HOF potential. Milwaukee has the Greek Freak Giannis playing the point at 6' 11" and he broke out after the all star game last year.he averaged 16.9 points/7.7 boards/4.3 assists/1.4 blocks/ and 1.2 steals per game last season on a .566 true shooting percentage. The only other players to do that in NBA History were..... Kareem, The Admiral, Dr J, Sir Charles, and KG. That's some pretty good HOF company there, and if you take into affect that his numbers were even higher once they switched him to the Point and that he is barely old enough to drink, it makes it even more impressive. He's probably the most athletic player in the NBA, can guard every position, and is the tallest PG in NBA history. The only thing he can't do yet is shoot the three. KAT might be the surest thing in the NBA to develop into a superstar but Giannis might have the highest ceiling of any young player in the NBA. Outcome? Even

Second best young player on the Wolves is Wiggins. Freak Athlete, high volume/low effiency scorer.  Has the potential and length to be a shutdown wing defender but hasn't shown the willingness to do it yet. Averaged 20 points a game on 45% from the field but only %20 from 3, 3.6 boards per game, 2 assists, 1 steal, and half a block with 2.2 turnovers a game. Pretty good numbers although his 3 point %, rebound, and assist numbers trouble me a bit and he seems to disappear from games at times. He is young and has plenty of time to figure it out but doesn't seem to have that killer instinct to become a superstar. Jabari Parker was picked immediately after Wiggins two seasons ago and has had a slow start to his career because of a torn ACL 20 games into his rookie season, but after the all star break Jabari came on strong and started to show his superstar potential on the offensive end. He averaged 18 and 7 after the midseason classic, scoring at a top 5 efficiency in the paint. His range falls just short of the three point line at this point in his career but could develop into a serviceable stretch 4 in the next few years. His defense is sub par but he rebounds at a much better rate than Wiggins and scores much more efficiently. If Wiggins tightens up his J and cashes in on his potential on Defense I would have to give the advantage to him but that remains to be seen, since Jabari has come back strong from his ACL injury and they are the same age it is still too close to call as to which player will ultimately become the best from that draft class.Outcome: even

Third best on each team comes down to Lavine verses Middleton. This one isn't even close. Levine is an incredible leaper and became a good three point threat last year but Middleton is a shut down wing defender who scores at an incredibly efficient rate. He is amongst the league leaders in 3 point % and can guard multiple positions. Lavine can't play a lick of D despite his athleticism and only averaged 14, 2, and 3. Middleton Averaged 18 4 and 4 while shooting better from the field and playing exponentially better defense. I can't believe that MN seriously thought that Milwaukee would give up Middleton for Rubio. That's a joke! Outcome: Bucks

I'm leaving out Greg Monroe because despite being the next best player on either roster because he doesn't fit well with Milwaukee and is probably going to be traded. So that leaves us with MCW vs Rubio. Neither can shoot worth a shit, but Rubio is a far superior distributor and playmaker. I feel his defense is way overrated due to inflated steals numbers because he gambles a lot, so I will take MCW's length and athletism on the defensive end anyday. Trying to figure out who's the better shooter is like trying to pick between Hillary and Trump, either way your going to be disappointed in your vote. I'll take Rubio here because his playmaking is far greater than MCW's and neither boasts much more upside. Outcome: Wolves.

Next lets look at the young bench players. Henson and Plumlee verses Dieng and Shabazz? I'd go with Henson and Plume here. Shabazz can score but is one of the worst defenders in the league. Dieng is a high energy big man with limited scoring ability but can D up and hit the boards while protecting the rim at an above average level. Henson has an average post game but can score with the jump hook when given the chance. He protects the rim at an elite level averaging 6 blocks a game per 36 minutes. Plumlee is limited offensively but like Dieng is a high energy defender and rebounder who does well in the pick and roll. Outcome: Slightly for Bucks

Tyus Jones vs Tyler Ennis: Haven't seen enough from either to make a decision here. Ennis showed some promise late last year and Tyus played well in Summer league after doing nothing last year. But it is Summer league after all. Same goes for Rashad Vaughn, Jones' buddy from Minnesota who has not looked good so far in the bucks backcourt. I do however like the Bucks second round pick this season Malcolm Brogdan. He is a tough defender who can knock down threes and has plenty of experience playing for Virginia for 4 years. Adrienne Payne looks like he belongs in the Mexican League. Outcome: who cares!

Finally lets look at Kris Dunn and Thon Maker the two first round picks this year. Dunn was drafted much higher obviously. He's a good defender and solid playmaker but not much of a shooter. I think they may have been better off drafting Hield or Murray because they need more shooting. Meanwhile the Bucks shocked everyone by taking Maker at ten overall. He's a complete mystery. If he's 19 he may have way more upside than Dunn but if he's 23 he might never crack the rotation on an NBA roster. He flashed some talent in summer league (but it's just summer league). He has a decent jump shot for a seven footer and is incredibly long and athletic. He has an extremely high motor and great work ethic. He has a much higher up side than Dunn but at this point nobody knows if he will achieve it, so I have to go with Dunn right now but check back in 3 years lol. Outcome: Wolves

Milwaukee has the youngest roster in the NBA right now slightly ahed of Philly, and if the Wolves dump KG and Prince they probably aren't too far behind.Both rosters boast potential young superstars in Giannis and KAT and potential all stars in Jabari and Wiggins. I think the difference is the big gap between Middleton and Lavine. Milwaukee has 3 really good young players while the Wolves only have two for sure. They do make up some ground with Rubio over MCW and Dunn could add into the equation very soon, but the same could be said for Maker in a few years. Also you have to factor in I left out Monroe, who will either be on the team or traded for some sort of asset. The great thing is that I think both small market teams have a very good chance to resign there core young players and along with the Jazz, have a great chance at making a few title runs in 3-5 years when LeBron, Durant, and Curry start to slow down a bit.

Call me a homer but I like where the Bucks are at just a little more than the Wolves. Like I said, I like Middleton way more than LaVine and I'm just not sold on Wiggins becoming a winner. The Wolves have KAT though who is almost a sure thing barring injury, so it will be interesting. One thing is for certain though.....the bulls are really, really, really, FUCKED!!!!!
